Residential Care Homes Basic Fire Awareness Course

Residential care homes pose unique fire safety risks. In particular, residents may have physical or mental disabilities and be unable to evacuate themselves in the event of an emergency.

Who is this course for

The Residential Care Homes Basic Fire Awareness course is aimed at general staff training and provides delegates with a basic understanding of the dangers associated with fire in residential care homes and measures to be taken to remove/reduce the risk. This course will last for three hours, support materials will include:

  • FPA leaflet "Residential care home checklist"
  • FPA pocket card "Types of extinguisher/fire instruction
  • DVD – "the front room fire" "fire safety in residential care homes"
