Response to Redundancy Programme - East of England

Who is it for?

As part of their Beyond 2010 scheme, the East of England Development Agency (EEDA) are offering funding (up to £1000) to help support staff ‘at risk’ of becoming redundant. The funding can be used to support training such as NVQs or non-formal training such as workshops, ensuring that individuals are well placed to gain a new job as efficiently as possible after redundancy.

To be eligible staff must be directly employed by a public or private sector organisation located in the East of England, must be aged 19 or older, and must be under threat or notice of redundancy.

How it works?

All training needs will be identified during an Information and Advice session with a professionally trained advisor. Agreed training will improve existing skills or help change career direction, as desired. ABA Training will provide the required training and qualifications, as well as workshops covering CV preparation, interview techniques and job search.

For any individual, the fund will normally support one ABA Training episode of up to £500 which has been chosen to directly improve employability. Where there is a need and a cost for business start-up training, this can be funded in addition to the skills training. All ABA Training will be delivered sensitively at a time and place that suits you.
